General

LDV and Maxus are both part of the global SAIC Motors Group.

SAIC Motors is one of the ten largest vehicle manufacturers in the world and a Fortune 100 company. It has operations across the globe. Its list of vehicle brands includes Roewe (Rover), MG, Maxus and IM Motors. SAIC is also the Chinese manufacturing partner for brands such as Volkswagen and General Motors, which means that they manufacture a wide range of models for these brands in China.

If you read about the history of LDV in Australia, you will notice a number of reports of premature rust on some of the LDV vehicles. You will also see that LDV immediately addressed this concern by replacing the affected vehicles and extending the warranty that covers rust and other defects. Since these incidents, no further concerns have been reported and the new generation of vehicles, which are also available in South Africa, offers the highest standard of fit and finish, including of the paint finish.

While it is difficult to predict the future value of any new model or brand, there are many factors that affect its value. Many of these factors, such as vehicle quality, the availability of parts and support and the quality and support from the dealer network are under the control of LDV South Africa. Rest assured that LDV South Africa will do everything that is necessary to support its models and the LDV brand, now and into the future.

LDV South Africa is a licensed importer and distributor of SAIC products in South Africa. The local company is owned by a consortium of investors.
